The Collision Devices Snack Fuzz is a compact mono fuzz pedal from the French maker Collision Devices, and one of the three pedals that opened the company's Snack Series of small-format effects in January 20261. It packs three fuzz modes, three presets, an assignable expression input and a mode-dependent Magic knob into a stepped wedge-shape enclosure measuring 130mm x 50mm x 60mm21.
Premier Guitar described the pedal as "an energy boost" when the series was announced3. It is a digital pedal, but with Analog Dry Through, so the dry part of your signal stays in the analog domain while the fuzz is engaged2.
The three fuzz modes: Soft, Mid and Hard
The Snack Fuzz's character is split across three modes, and the Magic knob does something different in each one. Collision Devices describes the Magic knob as the place "where the cool things happen"2.
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Soft | Analog style distortion; Premier Guitar calls it "SOFT (analog style distortion)"3 |
| Mid | Dephased parallel fuzz, with control over the phases of both fuzzes34 |
| Hard | Bit fuzzer; Guitar Pedal X calls it "a Square-Wave Gated Chainsaw"31 |
Pedal of the Day's review went into more detail on how the modes behave. Of Soft mode, the reviewer wrote4:
"Soft mode gives you an analog style saturation with a filter, a slight flutter can be added on the top of it to enhance"4
On Mid mode, the same review noted that it "provides dephased parallel fuzzes where you can control the phases of both, easily accessing every style of digital fuzz"4. That phase control is what separates Mid from a conventional fuzz: instead of one clipping stage, you get two parallel fuzz paths whose phase relationship you can move, which opens up comb-filter and cancellation textures that a single-ended fuzz circuit cannot reach.
Hard mode is the most aggressive of the three, an aggressive fuzz with a filter that Guitar Pedal X characterized as a square-wave gated chainsaw1. Between the three, the pedal covers ground from warm analog-style saturation to gated, bit-crushed extremes.
Controls, presets and expression input
The control set is built around the three modes plus the Magic knob2:
- 3 fuzz modes: Soft, Mid and Hard2
- 3 presets: save and recall your settings2
- Magic knob: does something specific in each mode2
- Expression pedal input: assign an expression pedal to any control2
- Footswitch: standard or momentary activation2
The expression input is a standout feature for a pedal this size. Rather than being tied to one parameter, you can point it at any control on the pedal, so you could sweep the Magic knob with your foot in one preset and something else entirely in another2. Premier Guitar highlighted this as a feature across the series567.
The momentary footswitch option is worth knowing about: set to momentary, the fuzz only sounds while you hold the switch down, which suits quick bursts of effect rather than a sustained on state56.
Power and connections
The Snack Fuzz runs on +9VDC with a negative center plug and draws 130mA2. That current draw is on the high side for a compact fuzz, so plan your power supply accordingly; it is well beyond what a typical analog fuzz draws, and a supply sized for small analog pedals may not have the headroom.
At 130mA, the Snack Fuzz draws more current than many compact analog fuzzes. Check your isolated power supply's per-output rating before pairing it with low-current pedals on the same supply.
Connections are mono: one input, one output2. There is no stereo operation, which is consistent with the whole Snack Series, all of which are compact mono effects2.
The Snack Series and B-stock units
The Snack Fuzz is one of the first three Snack Series pedals, alongside the Snack Pitcher (pitch shifting) and the Snack Delay, all launched in January 202631. Premier Guitar described the series as pedals "designed to be fun, tiny and useful while also being accessible"3. A fourth compact, the Snack Modulation with chorus, phaser and flanger modes, followed in October 20268.
Pedal of the Day's review of the first three pedals found they work well together4:
"All three of these pedals sound amazing on their own, but the sound grows even bigger and more experimental when you combine them."4
Collision Devices also offers B-stock Snack Fuzz units. These are described as freshly built and ready to ship, with electronics "perfectly fine" and some velcro on the back, at a sale price of €130 against an original price of €1655. UK and USA orders ship from a UK and USA hub5. The maker also runs a standing promotion: buy two Snack Series pedals and the second is 15% off, deducted automatically at checkout2.

Questions
Is the Collision Devices Snack Fuzz true bypass?
No. Collision Devices lists the Snack Fuzz with buffered bypass rather than true bypass. It does pass the dry signal analog, which the maker calls Analog Dry Through, so your untouched signal stays in the analog domain while the effect is engaged.
Can the Snack Fuzz footswitch work as momentary?
Yes. The footswitch can be set for standard or momentary activation. In momentary mode the fuzz only sounds while you hold the switch down, which is useful for quick stabs of effect between phrases.
Is the Snack Fuzz analog or digital?
It is a digital pedal with Analog Dry Through, meaning the dry part of your signal stays analog while the effect is processed. The Mid mode in particular gives access to what the maker and reviewers describe as every style of digital fuzz.
How much does the Snack Fuzz cost in the US?
Premier Guitar reported a $190 street price for each of the first three Snack Series pedals at launch in January 2026. The maker's current listing is €165.83, and B-stock units have been offered at €130, shipped to US orders from a US and UK hub.
What other pedals are in the Collision Devices Snack Series?
The series launched with the Snack Fuzz, Snack Pitcher (pitch shifting) and Snack Delay, all compact mono pedals in the same stepped wedge enclosure. A fourth compact, the Snack Modulation with chorus, phaser and flanger modes, followed in October 2026.
