The Dr. No Effects Rockcity Fuzz Limited Edition is a fuzz stompbox built around the maker's old and original "Kafuzz!!!" circuit, housed in an enclosure the maker shaped, developed and designed himself and completely hand-sculpted1. It is a small-run pedal by any measure: 17 were made by hand in 2008, of which 10 were released at the time and 7 were held back and later released as this limited edition1.
The limited run and the flock finish
Dr. No Effects describes the history of the model plainly: "Of this model, called the Rockcity Fuzz, 17 were made by hand in 2008, of which 10 can be found somewhere in the world"1. The original edition was first released in 2008, and the seven held-back units form the Limited Edition covered here1.
What sets this edition apart from the ten originals is the surface treatment. The edition of 7, unlike the other 10 copies released in 2008, is provided with a unique flock layer, a textured coating applied over the hand-sculpted housing1. Every Rockcity Fuzz is numbered1.
The maker's webshop listed the Rockcity Fuzz Limited Edition at €365.001. With only seven units in the edition, a pedal of this model reaches the market only when the maker releases further held-back stock or an owner resells one.
Housing and design
Dr. No Effects builds its pedals in housings the maker describes as "self-shaped self-developed and designed housing designs, which he completely hand-sculpted"1. That means each Rockcity Fuzz enclosure is sculpted by hand rather than taken from a standard box, so the physical form of the pedal is part of the build, not just the circuit inside.
The Rockcity Fuzz sits in a wider range of hand-built Dr. No fuzz pedals, including the SkullFuzz Original, the NecroFuzzIcon, the RoadRunner and The Turd1.

The Dr. Because only seven units of this edition exist, availability depends on whether the maker releases further held-back units or a unit is resold.
What is different about the flock finish version?
