The "Floating House" Koch Ness Monster is a JAM Pedals multi-effects pedal: five of the Greek maker's circuits built into one enclosure, in the form of the Greg Koch signature Koch Ness Monster but finished with different artwork. JAM Pedals describes it as a "MULTI-PEDAL" and notes that the sound is the same as the standard version, with only the artwork differing1.
Power and setup
The pedal runs on 9V DC, center-negative, and draws 400 mA1. JAM Pedals does not include a power supply with the unit1.
At 400 mA, the Koch Ness Monster draws more current than many shared pedalboard supplies provide per output, and no power supply is included in the box1. Plan a dedicated supply output for it.
Signal chain and SYNC
JAM Pedals gives the internal chain as Lucydreamer into Eureka!, then a send/return loop, then the Harmonious Monk and finally the Delay Llama1. The send/return loop sits between the drive stages and the time-based stages, so outside pedals can be patched into the middle of the chain.
With SYNC engaged, the Delay Llama TAP footswitch also controls the Harmonious Monk tempo, and JAM Pedals notes that different subdivision settings between the two can create interlocking rhythmic textures1.
The "Floating House" artwork
The Floating House edition is a custom-artwork version of the standard Koch Ness Monster. JAM Pedals states: "Every custom artwork pedal is a one-of-a-kind hand-painted piece. The pedal you receive will differ in detail from the photos shown"1. The company lists it at a regular price of £839.00, with the same sound as the standard version and different artwork only2.
