The Mythos Pedals Herculean Dual Overdrive is a boutique dual overdrive pedal that combines two of the maker's drive circuits, the Herculean and the Runestone, in a single enclosure. Gearnews' Jef described it as offering "the Herculean and Runestone drive tones in one dual drive pedal," and suggested that combining the two sides "potentially offers overdrive nirvana."1
What it does
The pedal's idea is simple: two drive circuits, one box. The Herculean side and the Runestone side can be used on their own or together, and Gearnews framed the combination of the two as the pedal's main draw for players. The writer's overall impression was favorable: "I suspect like all Mythos Pedals, that the new Herculean Dual Overdrive will be a winner."1
For a player comparing dual-drive options, the appeal is carrying two related but distinct overdrive voices without two separate pedals on the board. Mythos Pedals also builds single-circuit drives such as the Mjolnir Wildwood Edition and the Envy Pro Overdrive NV-9, so the Herculean Dual Overdrive sits in a wider range of overdrive pedals from the same maker1.
Release and price
The pedal was previewed at Winter NAMM in early 2024, with Gearnews reporting at the time that it was "about to be released any day soon." It was officially out on 21 February 2024.1
The launch coverage gives the MSRP in euros, EUR 349, rather than in US dollars. No US dollar list price appears in that coverage.1
