The One Control Prussian Blue Reverb is a compact reverb pedal designed by Bjorn Juhl, the designer One Control also calls BJF. One Control describes it as a blend of several classic reverb tones: closer to a hall sound than a spring, but not as bright as a typical hall reverb, drawing on the strengths of spring, hall and room types in one pedal1.

The original is currently listed as sold out on One Control's product page, at a regular price of $169.99 USD, with a second price of $212.99 USD shown alongside it1. A limited edition, the Prussian Blue Reverb Revival 15th Anniversary, reissues the same design and is also sold out2.

A reverb between spring, hall and room

One Control positions the Prussian Blue Reverb as a middle ground between the classic reverb types. In the maker's words, "it's closer to the hall tone than to spring but not as bright as hall reverb"1. For a player, that means a reverb with the spaciousness of a hall but without the bright, washy top end that halls can add, and without the boing of a spring.

The Revival edition describes the same goal from the player's side: "players desire a tone that lies somewhere between spring and hall reverb, rich but not overpowering, ambient but clear"2. One Control also claims a wide dynamic range for the pedal, about five times greater than traditional spring reverbs, which the maker says ensures clarity across all frequencies2.

The controls

The original pedal keeps things simple with a single decay control. One Control notes that the decay control designed by BJF "does not simply adjust the overall reverb length"1. It sets the reverb decay time from 2 milliseconds to 2 seconds1, a range wide enough to go from a barely perceptible room blur to long, ambient tails.

The Revival 15th Anniversary edition adds three more controls:

ControlWhat it does
DECAYSets the reverb duration from two milliseconds to two seconds2
LEVELAdjusts the volume of the reverb effect2
TONEAdjusts the brightness of the reverb2
KILL DRYMutes the dry signal for parallel routing or creative effects2

The KILL DRY switch is the notable addition for experienced players: with the dry signal muted, the pedal outputs only the reverb, which suits parallel routing setups where you blend the wet signal back in elsewhere in the chain2.

Power and connections

The Prussian Blue Reverb runs on a 9V battery or a standard DC power supply, with a drive voltage range of 8 to 12 V and a current draw of 32mA1. The Revival edition specifies the same 8 to 12 volt operating range and 32 milliamp draw, powered by a 9V center negative adapter or a 9V battery, which is not included2.

At 32mA the pedal is easy on a pedalboard power supply, and the 8 to 12 V range gives some flexibility with regulated supplies. Input impedance is 500K and output impedance is 2K, with a signal-to-noise ratio of -96 dBm1.

Both the original and the Revival edition are listed as sold out on One Control's product pages as of October 2026. The Revival was a limited edition commemorating the 15th anniversary of One Control, so that version is unlikely to return2.

The Revival 15th Anniversary edition

The Prussian Blue Reverb Revival is a limited edition pedal commemorating the 15th anniversary of One Control, reissuing the original design by Bjorn Juhl2. It keeps the core architecture of the original: 24-bit digital reverb processing with an analog dry-through circuit, true bypass switching, and the same 8 to 12 V, 32mA power spec21.

Where the two versions differ is the control set. The original's single decay knob becomes four controls on the Revival, adding level, tone and the KILL DRY function described above2. The enclosure dimensions are shared: 39 mm wide by 100 mm deep by 31 mm high without protrusions, and 47 mm by 100 mm by 48 mm with them12.

Questions

Is the Prussian Blue Reverb true bypass?

Yes. One Control lists true bypass switching for both the original Prussian Blue Reverb and the Revival 15th Anniversary edition, so your dry signal passes through untouched when the pedal is off.

Is the Prussian Blue Reverb analog or digital?

It is a hybrid. The reverb program runs on a 24-bit digital chip, but the dry signal stays analog and is never converted to digital. The Revival edition uses the same approach, with digital reverb processing and an analog dry-through circuit.

Who designed the Prussian Blue Reverb?

Bjorn Juhl, the designer One Control also refers to as BJF, developed the original Prussian Blue Reverb. The Revival 15th Anniversary edition reissues his original design.

What are the dimensions of the Prussian Blue Reverb?

The enclosure measures 39 mm wide by 100 mm deep by 31 mm high without projections, and 47 mm wide by 100 mm deep by 48 mm high including projections. It weighs approximately 160 grams.

Is the Prussian Blue Reverb still available?

As of late October 2026, One Control's product pages list both the original Prussian Blue Reverb and the Revival 15th Anniversary edition as sold out. The Revival was a limited edition, so a restock of that version is unlikely.
