Pedalnetics Helauxy Duo

The Pedalnetics Helauxy Duo is a MIDI controller with two footswitches, FS1 and FS2, each with its own LED¹. Pedalnetics builds it as an auxiliary switch for MIDI-equipped gear, and it sits among the maker's small controllers alongside the Auxidi Duo and the Auxidi Solo Mini Angled. A second version, the Helauxy Duo Midi v2, was released on August 10, 2024².

Modes and MIDI channel

The controller defaults to preset down/up mode, shown as Red/Blue on the LEDs¹. The MIDI channel is configurable from 1 to 16. In MIDI channel edit mode, the left footswitch decrements the channel by one, and if you decrement beyond channel 1 it wraps back around to 16; incrementing beyond channel 16 wraps back around to 1¹.

Double-press and factory settings

Double-press mode is enabled at the factory and set to Tuner, so a double press calls up the tuner function on the connected device¹. The full factory settings are:

• MIDI Channel 1
• Preset Down/Preset Up Mode
• Double-press mode enabled, set to Tuner
• Left footswitch FS1, right footswitch FS2¹

Saving settings and firmware

Settings save automatically: wait 10 seconds with no button presses and the controller saves your settings and reboots itself. Unplugging the device will prevent the save¹.

On startup the LEDs report the firmware version: a Red Red Red flash sequence indicates Firmware Version 1.0¹. The maker's manual also describes a startup LED test, in which both switch LEDs run a quick Red Green Blue test, first the FS1 LED, then the FS2 LED¹.
