Pedalnetics Helauxy Duo Midi v2

The Helauxy Duo Midi v2 is a preprogrammed MIDI controller from Pedalnetics, released on August 10, 2024. It belongs to the Helauxy Duo MIDI family, which the maker describes as "a small MIDI controller" fitted "into our full-size Helauxy Duo switch body," giving players foot control of MIDI gear without programming a full-size MIDI controller¹². The v2 arrived in limited quantities: Pedalnetics dropped two batches of 25 units on release day, 25 at 10am Central and 25 at 10pm Central³.

What it does

The Helauxy Duo MIDI line is built as a simplified controller. Rather than offering open-ended programming, it comes with preset modes, including modes specific to the Line 6 HXStomp, and you pick the mode you want at boot¹. The default mode is preset down/up, shown as Red/Blue on the LEDs².

The MIDI output leaves the unit on a 3.5mm TRS jack wired to Type A, which the maker notes is the MIDI standard¹. Pedalnetics also includes two pieces of different strength pre-cut velcro for mounting the unit on a pedalboard¹.

Configuration is kept simple. The MIDI channel is configurable from 1 to 16, and the maker notes that incrementing beyond channel 16 wraps back around to 1². During double-press edit, FS2 changes what happens when a double-press is activated².

Where it sits in Pedalnetics' range

Pedalnetics builds a family of small switch and MIDI controllers around the same idea. The Helauxy Duo is the switch body the MIDI version is built into¹. The Helauxy Duo Mini Pro, announced May 29, 2024, put the Mini into a milled metal enclosure with laser etched features, including a more simplistic logo option⁴. For players wanting a self-contained MIDI controller with more scope, the maker later launched the Auxidi Duo, a palm-sized preconfigured MIDI controller switch.
