EarthQuaker Devices has discontinued the Park Fuzz Sound, a germanium fuzz pedal made in collaboration with Park Amplifiers. The maker's product page now carries the notice "THIS DEVICE IS NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION"1. Guitar Pedal X reported that the pedal "was discontinued as of the 16th of this month"2.
The pedal is described by EarthQuaker as "a faithful recreation of the original Park Fuzz Sound," with what the maker calls modern upgrades: metal film resistors and caps for quieter performance, NOS matched germanium transistors, a fuzz range "more than twice the original," a smaller footprint, true bypass switching with LED indication and power supply compatibility1. Guitar Pedal X describes it as "the MKIII style Park Fuzz Sound"2.
"Park Amplifiers and EarthQuaker Devices have teamed up to bring you a faithful recreation of the original Park Fuzz Sound!"
It has three controls: Treble/Bass, the tone control, with thicker tones to the right and brighter to the left; Volume, the level control; and Fuzz, the gain control, with more fuzz to the right1.
