Pedal of the Day published a feature on the Echo Fix EF-P5 FET Compressor on September 7, 2025, describing it as "a studio-grade unit that works for guitar, bass, keys, drums, vocals and much, much more"¹. Echo Fix, based in Australia, makes tape echo machines and effects pedals¹.

The EF-P5 is a compressor pedal with a 100% analog signal path and input and output transformers²¹. Echo Fix lists variable attack and release, which it says covers a broader range than traditional FET compressors, plus a rear switch for increased attack and release times². Ratio settings are switchable between 4:1, 8:1, 12:1 and 20:1²¹. It also has a mix control for parallel compression, a high-pass filter, an "all buttons in" mode and a programmable footswitch power-on state²¹. A rear side-chain input is included for ducking, along with a rear switch to boost input gain²¹. Metering can show gain reduction, 0dBu or +4dBu, or be bypassed²¹.

Connections are a combo XLR input and an XLR output²¹. Echo Fix lists the following specifications²:

Echo Fix also sells a matched stereo pair of two EF-P5 units with consecutive serial numbers³. The maker states that for USA customers it covers tariff and customs charges through its express courier, and that the checkout price is all inclusive for USA customers². No price was given in the coverage.

Delicious Audio had covered the pedal earlier, on June 26, 2025, describing FET compressors as modeled after classics like the 1176 and saying the EF-P5 adds high-quality transformers, variable attack and release, a side-chain input and selectable ratios from 4:1 to 20:1⁴.
