The core of Echo Fix's business is keeping vintage tape echoes running. Its product pages cover wear parts for the machines players still use on stages and in studios, and the company manufactures new parts to original specifications where originals are no longer available3.
Echoplex parts
Echo Fix sells DIY full service kits for the Echoplex EP3 and EP44 and for the EP1 and EP23. The EP3/EP4 kit includes a NOS vintage tape length to reload an existing cartridge, which Echo Fix describes as having excellent tone4. Individual parts are also sold, including a replacement record/erase head for the EP3 and EP42 and updated red rubber pinch rollers for the EP1/EP25.
Echo Fix says faulty rubber rollers, drive belts, tension springs and tape can lead to wow and flutter, pitch variations, low echo output signal and tape transport problems4.
Roland Space Echo and other machines
For the Roland Space Echo, Echo Fix offers a full service kit for the RE-501 and SRE-555 that includes two new tape loops made with lubricated tape6. A tape path felt kit with RT-1L tape loops is also available, which Echo Fix says is best replaced after three years of use to improve performance7.

Why tape loops fail
Echo Fix reports that over 90% of the echo repairs coming into its workshop are due to faulty tape loops made with incorrect tape1512. The company is specific about what it uses:

Echo Fix's own products
Alongside parts, Echo Fix builds its own instruments. The EF-X3 line of tape delays pairs a tape delay with BBD analog chorus and spring reverb, in versions including the standard EF-X3, a limited release white model, a desktop white with walnut sides, a Tolex enclosure version and the Vintage Voice16. All offer CV control for motor speed and feedback level (0-5v) via compatible expression pedals, and the Vintage Voice also accepts synthesizers as a CV source1. The rack-mounted EF-X3R carries the same feature set17.
