HeadRush Gives Looperboard a Firmware 2.0 Update Leave a comment

Revered next-generation guitar products innovator HeadRush has unveiled a groundbreaking Looperboard update with Firmware 2.0.

The update redefines traditional standards for loopers. It comes “backed by extensive feedback and testing from HeadRush’s looping community, and harnessing the Looperboard’s class-leading powerful quad-core DSP,” the press release states, adding:

“Now users can connect external USB or SD drives for virtually endless looping times, add auto vocal harmony & tuning, loop with auto-bpm detection, customize Looperboard’s footswitches to their own preference, add rhythmic DJ-style effects and much more.”

Modern loop artists will appreciate the seven-inch screen with a smart-touch interface that displays dynamic feedback. The Looperboard is complete with all the tools a looper needs, eliminating the need for additional devices—top-class 32-bit floating 48kHz audio, 12 backlit RGB footswitches, tap tempo with intelligent time-stretch, custom audio routing, 40+ inbuilt FX, and much more.

Other new effects include Pumper for a rhythmic pumping effect akin to that of sidechain compression, Slicer for cutting the sound in a pre-selected rhythmic pattern, and LFO-Sync for yielding filter sweeps via a pre-selected time division of the tempo.

Per HeadRush Product Manager Walter Skorupski, “The HeadRush Looperboard is loaded with extremely smart and powerful features that take its capabilities far beyond any looper pedal ever made. We’re incredibly excited to empower musicians with the ultimate looping workfow and we can’t wait to hear what they create!”

The Looperboard retails for $899, while the Firmware 2.0 is available as a free download at HeadRushFX.com.
