MXR has released the MXR Textures, a granular synth texturizer pedal with three operating modes, reported on July 28, 2026¹². The pedal is designed for both guitarists and bassists³.

The MXR Textures Granular Synth Engine splits the incoming signal into short pieces the pedal calls grains and plays them back under user control². Its three modes are Green Grains Delay, Orange Auto Freeze and Red four-note Layers⁴. In Delay mode, notes and chords are continuously recorded and played back as grains⁴. Auto Freeze sustains each note or chord while processing it as grains, adapting when a new note or chord is played⁴. Layers sustains up to four notes or chords at once; a fifth replaces the oldest of the four, and the button's LED flashes when the effect is frozen⁴.

The controls are six knobs for Time, Size, Overlap, Mix, Pitch and Regen, plus Mode and Reverse buttons¹. Ranges differ by mode⁴:

Holding the Mode or Reverse button while turning a knob opens secondary parameters, including reverb, vibrato, a low-pass/high-pass filter, pitch quantize and randomization⁴². The pedal has eight presets⁴², stereo in and out with mono, wet/dry or true stereo output configurations, and expression pedal control over any parameter². It works with an MXR Tap Tempo switch or Split + Tap for hands-free preset scrolling and freezing².

Reported US prices differ: MusicRadar gives $269¹, Delicious Audio gives $269.99² and Gearnews lists $279.00³. MusicRadar reported the pedal available now¹; Guitar Pedal X described it as already widely stocked⁴, and Gearnews reported it available at Thomann³.
