SolidGoldFX releases Fuzzbox silicon Tone Bender Mk II-style fuzz

SolidGoldFX released the Fuzzbox, a low-gain silicon fuzz inspired by the Tone Bender Mk II, on September 15, 2026¹². Guitar Pedal X reported the release and listed the pedal at a US price of $199¹.

The Fuzzbox has five controls: Level, Fuzz/Gain, Bias/Character, Sag/Starve, and a Mode/Voice switch for Modern or Vintage¹. The Bias control adjusts the operating point of the third transistor, shifting texture from a tight grind to a softer, more saturated crunch, according to Delicious Audio². The Sag control simulates a fading battery by scaling internal voltage from 9V down to 5V¹².

The two modes change the input response. Guitar Pedal X describes Vintage as delivering the raw, immediate character of a classic Mk II-style fuzz, with direct interaction between guitar and circuit for dynamic cleanup and explosive attack, and Modern as smoother and more controlled, with added low-end presence and improved compatibility with wah pedals, buffers, and larger pedalboard setups¹. Delicious Audio gives a similar account, saying Modern smooths out the input and ensures compatibility with buffers, wah pedals, and crowded boards².

Other features include relay-based true bypass switching, top-mounted jacks, a compact 125B enclosure, and standard center-negative 9V DC operation with no battery provision¹. The pedal is designed and built in Montreal, Canada¹. Guitar Pedal X reported it as available from leading international dealers and direct from SolidGoldFX¹.

Neither report gives transistor count or part details. Guitar Pedal X noted that "there is no mention of the Transistors bar them being Low-Gain Silicon," and presumed three, as is usual for Mk II Tone Benders¹. Delicious Audio says the pedal uses carefully selected low-gain silicon transistors².

Guitar Pedal X gave the price as $199 in its text and a MAP/RRP of $199 in its feature list¹.
