Strymon announced the TimeLine MX, a successor to its TimeLine delay, on July 7, 20261. The maker describes it as a "Flagship delay pedal with dual algorithms, 5-minute Stereo Looper and more" and lists it at $679.001. Guitar.com reported the pedal available now at $679, directly from Strymon and from authorised retailers2.
The TimeLine MX carries 12 delay machines, including new Oil Can, Spectral, Drum and MultiTap engines, and two can run at once in Series, Parallel or Split routing1. Strymon also added a reverb engine, which it says can pair with a delay to make the pedal an "all-in-one delay-plus-reverb" unit1. MusicRadar reported that the MultiTap engine was reengineered to allow up to eight taps with individual level and pan controls, and that Swell and Duck can now be added to every delay engine3. Guitar.com reported the pedal uses a tri-core 800 MHz ARM chip in place of the original's single 266 MHz SHARC DSP processor2.
The looper runs five minutes in stereo and adds a one-button mode1. Strymon lists stereo I/O with a hardware insert, discrete Class A JFET preamps and full MIDI over DIN, TRS or USB-C, with Nixie 2 support to come1. Guitar Pedal X listed 24-bit/96 kHz conversion, 116 dB signal-to-noise, true or buffered bypass, a 9V DC draw of 500 mA and dimensions of 127 x 172 x 48mm4. Guitar.com gave the size as 7" by 5", against 6.75" by 5.1" for the original2.
"We've taken everything the original was renowned for, from legendary delay machines to unparalleled flexibility and stage-ready functionality, and brought it to the next level."
Strymon calls the TimeLine MX "the most powerful delay pedal on the market"2. Guitar World reported the original TimeLine at $449 and placed the new pedal's price against the Meris LVS Modular Delay at around $599, the Line 6 DL4 MKII at $299 and the Boss DD-500 at $3995. Gearnews listed the pedal at $763 in its price section and at $749.00 in an affiliate listing6; the maker's own US price is $679.001.
