The Cosmodio Instruments Horoscope Echo Sequencer is a delay and reverb pedal that manipulates clock speeds to turn echoes into evolving rhythms and melodies. It works by jumping delays to different time divisions, shifting delay time and pitch at the same time, and it adds pitch-shifting delay patterns on top of a fully featured delay and reverb engine1. Pedal of the Day describes the range of sounds it can produce: "Construct psychedelic pitch-shifting delay patterns, lush drifting ambient textures, or heavy industrial pulses."1
How the sequencing works
The core technique, as Pedal of the Day explains it, is "jumping delays to different time divisions to simultaneously shift delay time and pitch"1. Tap tempo controls both the sequencer step rate and the base delay time, so the pattern and the underlying echo stay locked to the same clock1. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson counts "9 ways to sequence the repeats, across 9 different Constellation Pitch and Fidelity Intervals"2.
Two rotary selectors set the shape of the pattern:
| Selector | Settings |
|---|---|
| SEQUENCE | Arp Up / Arp Down / Arp Up/Down / 6 Notes / 8 Notes / 10 Notes / 12 Notes / 16 Notes / Infinity Sequence2 |
| CONSTELLATIONS | Extreme Lo-Fi Massive Octave Stack / Slow Clock 3 Octaves / 3 Stacked Octaves / 2 Stacked Octaves / 1 Octave / Perfect Pythagorean Intervals / Cascading Perfect Intervals / Just-intoned 5-Limit Pentatonic / Ptolemaic Intense Diatonic2 |
Pedal of the Day sums up the character of the pedal in the maker's words: "It's a musical kaleidoscope that can reflect, expand, and compress sound. And underneath it all, a fully featured delay and reverb."1
The controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Step Rate | Sets the sequencer step rate, with tap tempo control12 |
| Feedback / Repeats | Sets the number of repeats2 |
| Wet Blend | Blends the effected signal against the dry2 |
| Preset | Selects presets 1 to 42 |
Two footswitches handle performance control: a Tap/Step footswitch and a Bypass footswitch. Pressing both together selects Auto or Manual Playback Mode2.
Stereo routing, expression and CV
The Horoscope is a full stereo pedal. Guitar Pedal X lists its playback and routing options as "Full Mono / MISO / Full Stereo (SISO)"2, and Pedal of the Day adds mono, stereo, or mono-to-stereo operation to that list1. The input and output jacks are 1/4-inch TS/TRS, so it works with a single mono cable or a full stereo rig2.
A 1/4-inch TRS expression jack accepts an expression pedal or CV from 0 to 5V, with customizable mappings over every parameter1. That makes it possible to sweep the sequencing, delay or reverb behavior in real time from an expression pedal or a CV source.
Power and connections
The Horoscope draws 200mA at 9V DC with a center-negative plug2. A standard low-current pedal power supply output may not be enough; check the current rating of the outlet on your supply or isolated splitter.
| Connection | Detail |
|---|---|
| Input | 1/4" TS/TRS2 |
| Output | 1/4" TS/TRS2 |
| Expression / CV | 1/4" TRS, 0 to 5V12 |
| Power | 9V DC center negative, 200mA2 |
Price and availability
Guitar Pedal X reported the launch of the Horoscope Echo Sequencer on 19 October 2026, with the price at $349 direct from Cosmodio Instruments as of that article2. Pedal of the Day featured the pedal on 15 October 20261. The enclosure carries artwork by Katie Guarnaccia1.
What reviewers said
Stefan Karlsson at Guitar Pedal X called the pedal "a really intriguing Delay and Reverb Sound-Designer" and noted "with so many interesting options and multiple different" approaches, flagging a significant learning curve to the overall concept2. Pedal of the Day's feature frames it as a delay and reverb that manipulates clock speeds to turn echoes into evolving rhythms and melodies1.

Questions
What do the Sequence settings do on the Horoscope Echo Sequencer?
The SEQUENCE selector offers nine ways to sequence the repeats: Arp Up, Arp Down, Arp Up/Down, 6 Notes, 8 Notes, 10 Notes, 12 Notes, 16 Notes and Infinity Sequence. Working with the CONSTELLATIONS selector, which sets nine different pitch and fidelity intervals, the pedal jumps delays to different time divisions, shifting delay time and pitch at the same time to build evolving rhythmic patterns.
Does the Horoscope Echo Sequencer work in stereo?
Yes. The pedal offers full mono, MISO, or full stereo (SISO) routing, and Pedal of the Day lists mono, stereo, or mono-to-stereo operation among its modes. Its input and output jacks are 1/4-inch TS/TRS, so a single mono cable works as well as a full stereo setup.
Can the Horoscope Echo Sequencer be used with an expression pedal or CV?
Yes. The pedal has a 1/4-inch TRS expression jack and accepts expression pedal or CV control from 0 to 5V, with customizable mappings over every parameter, according to Pedal of the Day.
How many presets does the Horoscope have?
The Horoscope has four customizable presets, selected with a preset selector numbered 1 to 4.
What bypass options does the Horoscope Echo Sequencer have?
Pedal of the Day lists two bypass options: mechanical bypass, or buffered bypass with echo trails, so repeats can either cut off when bypassed or ring out naturally.
How much does the Horoscope Echo Sequencer cost?
As of Guitar Pedal X's 19 October 2026 article, the price was $349 direct from Cosmodio Instruments.
