The Hotone NC-200 Verbera is a stereo reverb pedal from Hotone Audio, a pedal maker based in Hunan, China1. What sets it apart from most reverb pedals is its dual-engine design: one side is a hardware-based convolution engine that reproduces the reflections of real spaces through impulse responses (IRs), and the other is an algorithmic reverb engine that generates its own spaces2. Convolution reverb is a rare technology in pedal form3, and the Verbera was the first release in Hotone's NeonGlow Series.
The pedal ships with 120 pre-loaded IRs of huge spaces, rare plate reverbs and more, with room for 1024 user IR presets on top4. Decay times reach up to 20 seconds in mono or 10 seconds in stereo3, putting it in ambient territory most reverb pedals do not reach.
Convolution and algorithmic reverb in one pedal
Convolution reverb works by playing your signal through an impulse response, a capture of how a real space, plate or piece of gear reacts to sound, rather than building the reverb from delay lines and filters the way an algorithmic reverb does. Gearnews notes that the Verbera "features a rather rare reverb technology for pedals: convolution reverb"3.
The Verbera gives you both approaches in one box. Guitar World's reviewer describes the design: "Verbera boasts a unique dual-engine design: one side captures the nuanced reflections of real spaces through IR convolut[ion]" while the other side runs the algorithmic engine2. The LED color tells you where you are: an amber hue indicates IR reverb, and blue indicates the algorithmic reverb options2.
On the IR side you get controls for Decay, Attack and Tone2. On the algorithmic side, engaging the Alt mode changes the top controls to Decay, Pre-Delay and Modulation21.
| Side | Controls | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| IR (convolution) | Decay, Attack, Tone | Amber LED2 |
| Algorithmic, Alt mode | Decay, Pre-Delay, Modulation | Blue LED21 |
Presets, footswitches and Freeze
The Verbera has dual footswitches. In the default mode, the right switch cycles forward through the presets and the left switch cycles backwards through the list. Pressing both switches simultaneously moves the pedal into a traditional stompbox mode, where the first switch toggles the effect on and off and the second activates Freeze2.
Freeze is the feature that sustains the reverb tail indefinitely, a common tool for ambient players and one that pairs naturally with the pedal's long decay times2.
Connections, MIDI and power
The rear panel carries a 6.3 mm stereo jack input, two 6.3 mm stereo jack outputs, and two 3.5 mm stereo mini jacks for MIDI and expression use: one MIDI Thru and one MIDI IN/EXP24. The expression input works through the MIDI/EXP mini jack, giving full MIDI and expression pedal support2.
The Verbera draws 1000 mA at 9V24. That is a full amp of current, well beyond what a standard 9V battery or a small daisy-chain output can supply, so plan on a dedicated power supply output.
The impulse responses are available in full stereo if desired3, and the stereo outputs let you run a true stereo rig with the two output jacks2.
What reviewers said
Guitar World's reviewer found the two engines complement each other, describing "the blend of realistic room sounds from the IRs and the wild, modulated tones of the algorithmic verbs" as genuinely breathtaking, and the sound as massive when dialed in right2. On build quality, the same reviewer found the pedal solid, robust and well-constructed, rating build quality at four and a half stars2.
MusicRadar's write-up framed the Verbera as part of Hotone "branching out and proving they can hang with the big dogs"1.
Price
Guitar World and MusicRadar both list the launch price as $299, with £249 in the UK and €299 in the EU21. A Gearnews buying guide dated 8 June 2026 listed it lower, at $245.00, £225.00 or €262.003.

Questions
How many IRs does the Hotone Verbera hold?
The Verbera ships with 120 pre-loaded impulse responses covering huge spaces, rare plate reverbs and more, and it has storage for 1024 user IR presets, so you can load your own captures of real rooms and gear.
Is the Hotone Verbera stereo?
Yes. It has a 6.3 mm stereo input and two 6.3 mm stereo outputs, and the impulse responses are available in full stereo if desired. Note that decay time is affected: up to 20 seconds in mono or 10 seconds in stereo.
Does the Verbera have MIDI?
Yes. It carries two 3.5 mm stereo mini jacks for MIDI and expression use, comprising a MIDI Thru jack and a MIDI IN/EXP jack, so it can be controlled from a MIDI controller or an expression pedal.
How long can the Verbera's reverb decay?
Decay times run up to 20 seconds in mono or 10 seconds in stereo, which is far beyond what most reverb pedals offer and suits long ambient tails.
Is the Hotone Verbera true bypass?
Yes, the Verbera uses true bypass, so with the effect off your signal passes through without the pedal's circuitry in the path.
