The JAM Pedals "Bewitched" WaterFall is a chorus and vibrato pedal built on an analog BBD circuit, the same bucket-brigade chip design behind classic modulation pedals. JAM Pedals says the all-analog BBD circuit produces "a warm, fluid response with a strong sense of depth and space"1. It is one of several versions of the WaterFall design, alongside the standard WaterFall, the WaterFall Bass and other limited artwork editions such as the "Relic" and "Spookful" versions.

The controls

The WaterFall keeps its face simple: two knobs, two toggles and one hidden control inside1.

ControlWhat it does
Depth knobControls modulation intensity1
Speed knobSets the rate; high Depth and Speed settings create Leslie-style rotary effects1
C/V toggleSelects chorus or vibrato1
+/- toggleChooses a subtler or more pronounced modulation range1
Internal trimmerAdjusts the maximum modulation speed1

The C/V toggle is the heart of the pedal: in chorus mode the detuned signal is blended with the dry signal for width and thickening, while vibrato shifts the pitch of the whole signal. The +/- toggle then scales how far the modulation reaches, so the same circuit can sit behind a part quietly or push to the front. For rotary sounds, JAM Pedals points players to high settings on both Depth and Speed, with the internal trimmer extending the top of the speed range1.

The pedal draws 47 mA at 9V DC, center negative1. That is within reach of most pedalboard power supplies, but it is worth checking the current budget of a daisy chain or low-output supply before adding it.

A one-of-a-kind enclosure

The "Bewitched" is a limited artwork edition: JAM Pedals states that "Every limited artwork pedal is a one-of-a-kind hand-painted piece"1. In practical terms, no two enclosures are alike, and the pedal you buy is the only one with that exact artwork. The circuitry is the maker's WaterFall design regardless of the paint.

Guitarist Greg Koch, named by JAM Pedals as a player of the pedal, said: "I use it to create moist soundscapes that warble and flow at the same time"1.
