The Koch Ness Monster Supreme is a signature multi-effects pedal built by Jam Pedals with guitarist Greg Koch. Announced in October 2024 alongside a smaller standard edition, the Supreme combines eleven analog effects and performance tools in a single custom multi-pedal1. Rather than modeling sounds digitally, it houses the company's own analog circuits in one enclosure, so a player gets a wah, vibrato/chorus, boost, drive, chorus and two delays without filling a pedalboard with separate boxes.
Guitar World described the Supreme as the souped-up version of the pair, noting that for $2,190 it "more than doubles its pedal offerings" compared with the standard Koch Ness Monster2. MusicRadar called it "Greg's wildest pedal dreams"3.
Who designed it, and where it came from
The Koch Ness Monster line came out of a collaboration between Jam Pedals and Greg Koch. Guitar World reported that "Jam Pedals and Greg Koch have combined their technical wizardry for the Koch Ness Monster"2. The idea behind both versions was to equip Koch with the essential set of effects to get him comfortably through any gig or session scenario, as MusicRadar put it at the announcement3.
The Supreme was available to order at launch, with shipping scheduled to start at the end of 20242. As of October 2026, Jam Pedals' Greg Koch artist page lists the Supreme as sold out4.
What is inside the Supreme
The eleven effects and tools are drawn from Jam Pedals' own pedal designs. Guitar World detailed the lineup2:
| Effect | What it is |
|---|---|
| Wahcko wah | Jam Pedals' wah pedal2 |
| RetroVibe vibrato/chorus | Vibrato and chorus in one, with expanded depth and speed plus expression control in the Supreme12 |
| Gristle King boost/drive | Koch's signature boost/drive pedal2 |
| Boost/buffer | A clean boost combined with a buffer2 |
| Waterfall chorus | Jam Pedals' chorus pedal2 |
| Delay Llama MkII | Analog delay; Koch uses this one as a slapback echo2 |
| Delay Llama Xtreme | The extended Delay Llama; Koch uses it for all his other delay needs2 |
The RetroVibe is one place the Supreme goes beyond simply repackaging existing circuits: Jam Pedals states that in this unit the RetroVibe "adds expanded depth and speed plus expression control"1, which means a player can sweep the vibrato or chorus intensity from an expression pedal rather than only by hand.
The two delays split the work the way Koch himself splits it. Guitar World noted that "Koch uses the former as a slapback echo and the latter for all his other delay pedal needs"2, so the MkII handles short rockabilly-style echo while the Xtreme covers longer delay duties.
Standard and Supreme editions
The Koch Ness Monster launched as two versions in October 20242:
| Koch Ness Monster | Koch Ness Monster Supreme | |
|---|---|---|
| Launch price | $790 (£550)3 | $2,190 (£1,500)23 |
| Effects | The essential set1 | Eleven analog effects and tools1 |
| Shipping at launch | From the end of October 20242 | From the end of 20242 |
Both are MULTI-PEDALS in Jam Pedals' catalog15. The Supreme is the kitchen-sink version: Guitar World described it as more than doubling the standard edition's pedal offerings2.
Every limited artwork Koch Ness Monster, including the Supreme, is a one-of-a-kind hand-painted piece. Jam Pedals states the pedal you receive will differ in detail from the photos shown567.
The standard Koch Ness Monster has also appeared in special hand-painted artwork editions, such as the "Floating House" version at £839.005, each likewise a one-of-a-kind painted piece.
What reviewers said
MusicRadar's Jonathan Horsley covered the value question directly at launch:
"Both units are pricey, but they still work out more economically than buying the pedals individually"3
That is the practical case for the Supreme: buying a separate wah, vibrato, boost, overdrive, chorus and two delays from Jam Pedals individually would cost more than the single unit, though the Supreme itself remains a big outlay at $2,19023.
