The JET Pedals Revelation V2.0 is a three-mode stereo digital reverb pedal with three presets and a streamlined control panel of just three knobs: Mix, Decay and Cntrl1. It builds on the earlier Revelation Reverb, adding true stereo inputs and outputs, three user selectable algorithms, three user selectable presets, soft click bypass switching, multi-colored LEDs showing preset and algorithm status, and a press-and-hold function for infinite bloom decay1.

The three reverb modes: Sky Blue, Ice and Sub

The V2.0's three algorithms are each tied to a color on the LED: Cyan (Sky Blue), White (Ice) and Yellow (Sub)1. Each one takes a different approach to the reverb tail.

ModeLED colorWhat it does
Sky BlueCyanMod algorithm: deep, lush modulated hall-type reverbs, for pads under your base signal or long swells with the decay cranked12
IceWhiteShimmer algorithm based on a warmer hall-type reverb, with an upper octave that can be fed into the reverb trails for pads that cut through the mix1
SubYellow"Anti-Shimmer": a warm hall reverb that can be blended with a lower octave and a sub-octave simultaneously12

The Sub mode is the unusual one. Where a shimmer reverb adds an octave above, Sub goes the other way, layering a lower octave and a sub-octave under a warm hall reverb, which is why it is described as "Anti-Shimmer"1. Pedal of the Day's review echoes the same description, noting the warm hall base with the blendable lower and sub octaves2.

Controls and footswitches

The panel keeps things to three knobs1:

  • Mix: sets the amount of reverb present, from 0 to 100% wet2
  • Decay: sets the reverb tail length, with over one minute of decay available2
  • Cntrl 1: a context-sensitive control that works differently depending on which algorithm is selected2

In the Yellow (Sub) algorithm, the Mix and Cntrl 1 knobs work interactively: for best results, a higher Mix usually calls for lower Cntrl 1 settings1.

The two footswitches do more than bypass and preset:

  • Bypass switch: press and hold for at least three quarters of a second; on release, the pedal cycles to the next algorithm1
  • Both switches together: press and release the Bypass and Preset switches at the same time to cycle through the presets1
  • Preset switch, held: a momentary effect that gives Infinite Decay, over one minute of bloom1

Any algorithm can be saved to any preset location, so a preset is not locked to one mode1.

In preset mode the knobs are not active; the pedal recalls its saved settings. In Live Mode the knobs are always active, so you can adjust Mix, Decay and Cntrl on the fly12.

Power

The Revelation V2.0 requires a 9V power supply with a negative tip, and that supply must deliver 200mA or larger. Anything less will result in performance issues. The power supply is not included with the pedal1.

What reviewers said

Pedal of the Day reviewed the pedal in March 2021 and was positive about it, calling it "a modern reverberated miracle, allowing you to precisely define your ambient sound" and noting that "the Stereo signals are just incredible when you hook into two amplifiers"2.

Pedal of the Day covered the JET Pedals Revelation V2.0, a three-mode stereo digital reverb with Soft Click Bypass Switches1. JET Pedals specifies that it requires a 200mA or larger power supply, and that anything less will result in performance issues1.

Questions

Does the JET Pedals Revelation V2.0 have stereo inputs and outputs?

Yes. The V2.0 has true stereo inputs and outputs, one of the upgrades over the original Revelation Reverb. Pedal of the Day's reviewer found the stereo signals especially strong when running into two amplifiers.

What power supply does the Revelation V2.0 need?

It runs on a 9V power supply with a negative tip, center negative style. JET Pedals specifies a supply of 200mA or larger; anything less will result in performance issues. A power supply is not included with the pedal.

Does the JET Revelation V2.0 come with a power supply?

No. The pedal is powered by a 9V negative tip supply that is not included, so you need to supply your own. Make sure it can deliver at least 200mA.

How do you switch algorithms on the Revelation V2.0?

Press and hold the Bypass switch for at least three quarters of a second. When you release it, the pedal cycles to the next algorithm. To switch presets instead, press and release both the Bypass and Preset switches at the same time.

Are the knobs active when a preset is selected?

No. In preset mode the knobs are not active; the pedal recalls the saved settings. In Live Mode the knobs are always active, so you can tweak Mix, Decay and Cntrl directly.

How long can the decay last on the Revelation V2.0?

The Decay knob offers over one minute of decay. Pressing and holding the Preset switch gives a momentary Infinite Decay effect, also described as over one minute of decay.
