The MOOER GE150 Plus is a compact multi-effects and amp-modeling pedal that MOOER describes as "designed for guitarists on the move"1. It follows the original MOOER GE150, launched in 2019, and sits alongside the GE150 Pro and GE150 Max in the same family. Gearnews positioned it at launch as a unit "aimed at players who want the same sounds and tools in a smaller package", suited to practice, recording and small gigs23.
At its core are 55 preamp models, which MOOER says are "made possible through intelligent nonlinear sample technology"1. The original GE150's 55 amp models were derived from MOOER's Micro Preamp series, as Guitar World noted in its review of that pedal4. The Plus carries up to 198 preset patches and shares MOOER's recently updated MNRS modeling engine with the GE150 Max12.
Amp modeling, IR loading and effects
The 55 preamp models are the heart of the unit, and both the amplifier and cabinet modules allow loading MOOER's MNRS sampling files15. Beyond MOOER's own files, the cabinet simulations support third-party impulse response (IR) files, so a player can use cab captures from any IR maker5. Third-party IR support was already part of the original GE150's appeal, with Gearnews noting in 2019 that it let players "get the same dynamics and feel of a real tube amp"6.
The Plus and the Max share the same updated MNRS modeling engine and a wide range of effects2. The larger Max adds the ability to load NAM (Neural Amp Modeler) profiles, something the press did not report for the Plus7.
Footswitches, touch screen and expression pedal
Control comes from a 2.8 inch touch screen and three multi-purpose footswitches, which Gearnews credited with helping keep the unit smaller than its siblings2. There is also a parameter-mappable expression pedal, so the pedal can be assigned to control effect parameters rather than only volume1.
For comparison within the family:
| Model | Footswitches | Expression pedal | Screen |
|---|---|---|---|
| GE150 Plus | Three multi-purpose1 | Parameter-mappable1 | 2.8 inch touch screen2 |
| GE150 Pro | Four multi-purpose3 | Parameter and volume control, "toe tap" mode3 | |
| GE150 Max | 8-footswitch layout8 | ||
| GE150 (original) | Two, one for looper, one for tuner9 | Programmable9 |
The original GE150's two footswitches were split between the looper and the onboard tuner, as MusicRadar's review described10, so the Plus's three multi-purpose switches give more flexibility over preset changes and function triggering.
Standard and Li versions
The GE150 Plus comes in two versions: the standard model in white with mains-powered operation, and the GE150 Plus Li in black with a built-in lithium battery15. MOOER rates the Li battery for up to 9 hours of use1. The same battery arrangement appears across the family: the GE150 Pro Li and the GE150 Max Li both claim up to 9 hours of play time as well38.
At launch in September 2025, Gearnews listed the standard GE150 Plus at Thomann for $159 and the GE150 Plus Li for $1702.
The GE150 Plus has no balanced XLR outputs, unlike the GE150 Max, which adds a stereo balanced XLR output alongside its 1/4 inch stereo outputs25. Players who need direct balanced feeds to a PA should weigh that difference.
How it differs from the GE150 Pro and Max
Premier Guitar reported that MOOER's GE150 "has seen several significant improvements, including through the GE150 Pro and the most recent GE150 Max and GE150 Plus"5. The practical differences a player will notice:
- Footswitches: the Pro has four multi-purpose footswitches to the Plus's three, and the Max has an 8-footswitch layout for fast preset changes and flexible live control138.
- Presets: the Plus holds up to 198 preset patches, against 200 on the Pro, the Max and the original GE1501389.
- Outputs: the Max has stereo balanced XLR outputs; the Plus does not25.
- Design intent: the Plus is the compact, travel-friendly option, while the Pro is built on MOOER's updated GE series design language53.
Where it came from
The original GE150 launched in 2019 as a 55-amp-model multi-effects pedal based on MOOER's Micro Preamp series34. Guitar World's Mike Astley-Brown reviewed it as "a feature-laden unit that belies its modest price tag", with 55 amp models and 151 effects in a compact format at $2004. The GE150 Plus, announced in September 2025 alongside the GE150 Max, carries that lineage into a smaller chassis with the updated MNRS engine25.
