The MXR Kerry King Ten Band EQ is an analog ten-band graphic equalizer pedal made by MXR, carrying the name of the Slayer guitarist. Like other ten-band EQs, it splits the signal into ten fixed frequency bands, each with its own slider, so a player can cut or boost specific parts of their tone: a common use is shaping a distorted rhythm sound or adding a midrange or low-end push. It belongs to the same family as the MXR Ten Band EQ and the MXR KFK1 10-Band EQ, and sits alongside smaller units like the MXR 6-Band EQ in MXR's equalizer range1.
MXR lists this pedal as a "LEGACY PRODUCT / NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION" on its own product page, so it is no longer part of the current lineup2.
Power
The Kerry King Ten Band EQ runs on 18 volts. MXR states it can be powered by the included ECB004 18-volt adapter, or by the DC Brick, Iso-Brick and Mini Iso-Brick power supplies2. RockBoard's PedalPedia lists the current draw at 26mA1. Because of the 18-volt requirement, it needs a power supply that can deliver that voltage; a lower-voltage output will not run it.
Where it came from
The pedal is part of MXR's Kerry King signature line, named for the Slayer guitarist, and is a variant of MXR's ten-band graphic EQ design1. MXR's product page now marks it as a legacy product that is no longer in production2. MXR's English manual for the pedal is available as a PDF from the maker's site1.
