The Source Audio Pathways Multi-Mode Full Stereo Tremo-Verb is a Source Audio pedal that combines stereo reverb and tremolo in the same enclosure format as the company's Lo-Fi Artifakt. It carries seven reverb types and three tremolo types, with a footswitch for each effect, tap tempo, 16 onboard presets and full MIDI control. Guitar Pedal X reported its release on 24 March 2026 at a US MAP of $3491.

What it does

The Pathways is a tremoverb: a reverb and a tremolo in one pedal, each with its own section of knobs and its own footswitch, so both effects can be dialed in and switched independently. Source Audio describes it as a full stereo design, with stereo inputs and outputs and an analog dry through path that keeps the dry guitar signal analog1.

The reverb side offers seven types: Slapback, Echo, Spring, Spring Tank, Room, Plate and Hall, with Reverb Time, Tone and Mix controls and a Reverb footswitch. The tremolo side offers Harmonic, Optical and Bias types, the three classic tremolo circuits, with Speed and Depth controls. The Tremolo footswitch doubles as a Tap Tempo, and a Universal section sets the tap division to 1/4, 1/8 or triplets1.

Presets and MIDI

The pedal holds 16 presets accessible from the onboard controls, arranged as a 4 x 4 bank, and opens up to 128 presets when connected over MIDI. MIDI comes by way of 3.5 mm TRS MIDI IN and MIDI THRU connections, plus MIDI over USB-C, so it can sit in a TRS MIDI chain and still pass MIDI on to the next device1.

Connections and power

The rear panel carries MIDI In, Input 1, Input 2, a Control Input, the 9V DC jack, USB-C, MIDI Thru, Output 1 and Output 21.

The Pathways draws around 180 mA at 9V DC, center negative. A power supply is included in the box, but a low-output daisy-chain output may not carry it on a crowded board1.

Where it sits

Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson framed the Pathways as Source Audio taking on the Fender Tre-Verb, the Keeley Hydra and, in his words, the "venerable Strymon Flint", with "a few more modes and features" than those pedals onboard. He added that it "may be my pick of the tremoverbs if the algorithms are as solid as usual overall"1. Source Audio's reverb line also includes the True Spring Reverb, the Encounter Delay + Reverb and the Ventris Dual Reverb, for players who want a dedicated reverb rather than a combined design1.

Questions

Does the Source Audio Pathways work in stereo?

Yes. The Pathways has stereo inputs and stereo outputs, so it can sit in a stereo rig or an effects loop with two channels and pass a full stereo image through its reverb and tremolo. It also has an analog dry through path, which keeps the untouched guitar signal analog on its way to the outputs.

Does the Pathways have tap tempo?

Yes. The Tremolo footswitch doubles as a Tap Tempo control, and a Universal section sets the tap division between 1/4, 1/8 and triplets, so the tremolo can be locked to the song in different rhythmic feels.

How many presets does the Pathways hold?

The Pathways holds 16 presets accessible from the onboard controls, arranged as a 4 x 4 preset bank. With MIDI connected, the preset count opens up to 128, which suits players who run the pedal under a MIDI controller or a switching system.

Is the Pathways true bypass?

The bypass is switchable between true bypass and analog buffered bypass, so a player can choose the cleaner hardwire path or the buffered path that suits a long cable run or a large pedalboard.

What power supply does the Pathways need?

The Pathways runs on a 9V DC center-negative supply with a 2.1 mm connector and draws around 180 mA. A 9V DC power supply is included in the box.

Can the Pathways be controlled over MIDI?

Yes. The pedal has 3.5 mm TRS MIDI IN and MIDI THRU connections as well as MIDI over USB-C, so it can be patched into a MIDI pedalboard chain and still pass MIDI along to the next device through the THRU port.
