The Electro-Harmonix Pico Oceans 3-Verb is an ultra-compact digital reverb pedal that puts three reverb types, Spring, Plate and Hall, into the smallest enclosure EHX builds. Released in 2023, it is part of the NYC DSP series of mini digital pedals and draws its three reverbs from the larger Oceans 11123. Delicious Audio called it "the smallest sibling of the Oceans family of multi-mode reverbs"4.
For a player, that means the core EHX reverb flavors of the Oceans line on a pedalboard footprint small enough to slot into almost any gap, with one wild-card feature borrowed from bigger ambient pedals: infinite reverb in the Hall and Plate settings15.
The three reverbs
The pedal's three algorithms each aim at a different classic reverb sound. EHX describes them on its product page1:
- Spring: "pays homage to the classic Fender® 6G15 tube spring reverb." Spring mode also features 3 selectable spring lengths, letting you go from a short tank to a longer, splashier one4.
- Plate: "the lush, warm reverb that got its name as it was originally created by a large metal plate"1.
- Hall: the big-room setting, and one of the two modes that can reach infinite reverb15.
You move between the three with a Type button rather than a rotary switch, which keeps the front panel small. The button cycles through Spring, Plate and Hall, and the LED color tells you where you are: green for Spring, orange for Plate, red for Hall16.
Controls and connections
The control set is deliberately minimal: four knobs and a button, with a single input and output2.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blend | Sets the mix of dry and reverb signal2 |
| Time | Sets the reverb decay length2 |
| Delay (Spring) | A delay control active in Spring mode2 |
| Tone | Controls the brightness of the reverb1 |
| TYPE button | Cycles through the three reverbs; LED color shows the selection1 |
| INPUT jack | Audio input to the Oceans 3-Verb1 |
| OUTPUT jack | Audio output from the Oceans 3-Verb1 |
GuitarPlayer's 2026 reverb buying guide, which named the pedal its best mini reverb, lists the controls as "Blend, Time, Delay (Spring), Tone" and notes "there's no battery compartment, and just a single input and output alongside a power jack for connectivity"2.
The pedal is mono. If your rig is stereo, or you want stereo reverbs, the Pico Oceans 3-Verb cannot do it; you would need to look elsewhere in the Oceans line2.
Infinite reverb
The feature that lifts the pedal above a basic three-way reverb is infinite reverb, which works in the Hall and Plate settings5. Delicious Audio reported the same thing at launch: "both the Plate and Hall mode can deliver infinite reverb at maximum settings"4. In practice, you push the controls to their maximum and the reverb sustains rather than decaying, holding a pad under your playing.
Premier Guitar's reviewer, in a March 2024 review of the EHX Pico pedals, was enthusiastic about it5:
"It's an awesome addition that ups the fun quotient exponentially and makes the 3-Verb an appealing option for noise, drone, ambient, and other experimental artists"5
How it differs from the Oceans 11
The Oceans 11 is the direct ancestor: gearnews reported at launch that "The Oceans 3-Verb offers Spring, Plate, and Hall reverbs from the Oceans 11 Reverb"3. The differences are in scope and format:
| Pico Oceans 3-Verb | Oceans 11 | |
|---|---|---|
| Reverb types | 3: Spring, Plate, Hall1 | 11 reverbs in one pedal16 |
| Variations per type | 3 spring lengths in Spring mode4 | Modes switch chooses between three variations of each reverb type7 |
| Type selection | TYPE button with LED color indication1 | Reverb Type knob8 |
| I/O | Mono2 | See the Oceans 11 page |
| Size | Compact Pico chassis1 | Larger full-size enclosure |
In short, the 3-Verb trades the Oceans 11's breadth for the Pico footprint. You keep the three most-used reverb families and the infinite reverb trick, and you give up the extra algorithms and their variations. Both pedals ship with a power supply included18.

Questions
Does the Pico Oceans 3 Verb come with a power supply?
Yes. Electro-Harmonix includes a 9.6VDC-200mA power adapter in the box. There is no battery compartment, so the pedal runs from the included adapter or a suitable pedalboard supply, and it connects with a single input, a single output and a power jack.
Is the Pico Oceans 3 Verb mono or stereo?
It is mono. The pedal has a single input and a single output alongside the power jack, so there is no stereo operation. Players who need stereo reverb would have to look at larger pedals in the EHX Oceans line.
Can the Pico Oceans 3 Verb make infinite reverb?
Yes. Premier Guitar called infinite reverb the pedal's one great wild-card feature, and it works in the Hall and Plate settings. Delicious Audio likewise reports that both Plate and Hall can deliver infinite reverb at maximum settings, which suits noise, drone and ambient playing.
How do you change reverb type on the Oceans 3 Verb?
A Type button cycles through the three reverbs: Spring, Plate and Hall. The color of the LED shows which one is active, with green for Spring, orange for Plate and red for Hall, so you can see the setting at a glance on a dark stage.
How is the Pico Oceans 3 Verb different from the Oceans 11?
The Pico Oceans 3 Verb takes its Spring, Plate and Hall reverbs from the Oceans 11 but packages just those three in a compact Pico chassis with mono input and output. The Oceans 11 offers many more reverb types, each with three selectable variations chosen by a Modes switch, and a Reverb Type knob instead of a button.
