The Two Notes ReVolt Bass is a three-channel, all-analog bass amp simulator in a pedalboard-friendly pedal format, made by Two Notes. Two Notes describes it as "a forward-thinking all-analog 3-channel Amp Sim primed to serve as the beating-heart of your rig"1. Its three channels are inspired by an Ampeg SVT '76, a Marshall 1992 JMP Super Bass Mark II, and a custom proprietary high gain bass amp, and the pedal carries a real PSVANE ECC83 preamp tube1. It is the bass sibling of the Two Notes ReVolt Guitar, which launched in 2022 with channels inspired by the Fender Bassman 100, Marshall JMP Super Lead and Soldano SLO 1002.
The ReVolt Bass is shipping now1.
A three-channel analog bass amp simulator
The ReVolt series, which also includes the ReVolt Guitar, consists of 3-channel all-analog preamps that Two Notes says are "fuelled by 200V and genuine tube power"3. That 200-volt figure matters to players comparing tube pedals: many run their tubes at far lower voltages, while the ReVolt series runs the tube at a level closer to what a full amplifier uses. Guitar.com's reviewer noted the guitar version is "powered by a real 12AX7 valve" running at 200 volts4.
The all-analog design extends to the cabinet simulation. Two Notes support has stated plainly that "there are no alternative cab sims in the unit as this is an all-analog cab sim"5, so unlike a digital modeler there is no menu of cab choices; what is in the pedal is what you get.
The ReVolt pedals also offer connectivity aimed at real rigs: an effects loop and MIDI, plus what gearnews.com described as "direct, four-ca[ble]" and Hybrid connectivity options for integrating the pedal with existing amps and modeling setups2.
The channels and controls
The three channels each have a dedicated footswitch, and the layout follows the pattern of the guitar version, where each channel has independent gain and volume controls2.
| Channel | Inspired by | EQ | Extra controls |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic Clean | Ampeg SVT '76, channel 1 | Two-band EQ | Gain, Volume |
| Vintage Dirt | Marshall 1992 JMP Super Bass Mark II | Three-band EQ (shared with Modern Drive) | Gain, Volume |
| Modern Drive | Custom proprietary high gain bass amp | Three-band EQ (shared with Vintage Dirt) | Dry/Wet blend |
The Dry/Wet blend on the Modern Drive channel "lets you blend the DI tone with the amp simulation"2, a feature bass players will recognize from parallel-blend overdrives: it lets you keep clean low end under a driven sound.
Two Notes describes Classic Clean, inspired by channel 1 of the Ampeg SVT '76, as "iconic, delivering the thump, full-frequency response and power synonymous with channel 1" of that amp, and says the channel is "oozing with rafter-rattling low end, punchy mids and buttery smooth highs"1. Those are the maker's words, not a reviewer's.
MIDI and connections
The ReVolt Bass has MIDI In and Out/Thru on TRS jacks (Type-A), with Din-5 pin converter cables included in the box1. On the guitar version, MusicRadar noted the MIDI can be used for remote control and "it can be used to control other MIDI pedals" and be controlled by them6.
Firmware updates for the ReVolt series are delivered over this connection: Two Notes support says you "will need to simply plug this into the MIDI In of the ReVolt"5.
Power supply
The ReVolt Bass runs on 12V DC from a 2.1mm center-negative DC jack, drawing 600mA, with power consumption of approximately 6W1. That current draw is on the high side for a pedal, in the same territory as the guitar version's 600mA draw1.
At 600mA, the ReVolt Bass needs a dedicated 12V output on a power supply, not a low-current daisy chain. Two Notes sells an official replacement power supply, a 12V DC 2A unit that is the recommended PSU for the ReVolt series and is also compatible with the Torpedo C.A.B. M+, Torpedo C.A.B. M, Torpedo C.A.B. and Le Preamp series71.
Price
Two Notes lists the ReVolt Bass as now shipping1. The maker describes its CLASSIC CLEAN mode as inspired by channel 1 of the Ampeg SVT '76, "oozing with rafter-rattling low end, punchy mids and buttery smooth highs"1.

Questions
Is the Two Notes ReVolt Bass analog or digital?
Yes, it is all-analog. Two Notes describes the ReVolt Bass as a forward-thinking all-analog 3-channel amp sim, and the company says the series uses an all-analog cab sim, with no alternative cab sims in the unit for that reason. The preamp tube is a PSVANE ECC83.
What amps are the ReVolt Bass channels based on?
The three channels are inspired by an Ampeg SVT '76 (Classic Clean, based on channel 1 of that amp), a Marshall 1992 JMP Super Bass Mark II (Vintage Dirt), and a custom proprietary high gain bass amp designed specifically for the pedal (Modern Drive).
Does the ReVolt Bass use a tube?
Yes. The ReVolt Bass uses a PSVANE ECC83 preamp tube. The ReVolt series runs its tube at 200 volts, according to Two Notes, rather than the lower voltages common in many tube pedals.
Does the ReVolt Bass have MIDI?
Yes. It has MIDI In and Out/Thru on TRS jacks (Type-A), with Din-5 pin converter cables included. Firmware updates for the ReVolt series are delivered by connecting to the pedal's MIDI In, and the ReVolt can control other MIDI pedals or be controlled by them.
What power supply does the ReVolt Bass need?
It runs on 12V DC from a 2.1mm center-negative DC jack, drawing about 600mA (approximately 6W). Two Notes sells an official 12V DC 2A replacement power supply that is the recommended PSU for the ReVolt series.
How much does the ReVolt Bass cost?
Two Notes lists the ReVolt Bass at $339.99, with a European MSRP of 339.99 euros. The maker's product page also shows a $349.99 figure, so the two list prices disagree; treat $339.99 to $349.99 as the listed range.
