The Julia Analog Chorus/Vibrato V2 Platinum Edition is a limited-run finish of Walrus Audio's Julia chorus/vibrato pedal. Walrus Audio describes it as "a fully analog, feature-rich chorus/vibrato" that "is able to produce mild smooth chorus, to seasick vibrato and everywhere in between"1. In other words, one knob takes you from a subtle thickening of your clean tone all the way to a pitch wobble, with every stop in between.
The Platinum Edition is the same circuit as the standard Julia V2, dressed in a deep lavender enclosure with surf green ink and original artwork by Adam Forster. It is a limited edition, and as of late October 2026 the maker's page lists it as sold out1.
From mild chorus to seasick vibrato
Chorus works by delaying your signal slightly and modulating that delay with an LFO (a low-frequency oscillator, the circuit that sweeps the effect back and forth). Vibrato is the same idea with the dry signal removed, so only the pitch-wobbling delayed copy is heard. The Julia's central control is the blend between those two states.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| D-C-V (Dry-Chorus-Vibrato) knob | Blends between dry, chorus and vibrato, setting the ratio of dry to wet signal at the output. Minimum is no effect, noon is equal parts dry and wet, maximum is 100% wet1 |
| Lag knob | Sets the center delay time the LFO modulates from. Lower settings give smooth, tight modulation; maximum gives warbling detune1 |
| Selectable analog LFO wave shapes | Choose the shape of the modulation sweep1 |
The D-C-V knob is what sets the Julia apart from a straightforward chorus pedal. Rolled to noon you get a conventional chorus mix; pushed toward maximum the dry signal fades out entirely and the effect becomes pure vibrato. Walrus Audio's own summary of the range, "mild smooth chorus, to seasick vibrato and everywhere in between," is a fair description of what that blend and the Lag knob together cover1.
History and versions: V2 and the Platinum Edition
The Julia began as Walrus Audio's analog chorus/vibrato pedal, a chorus and vibrato in one box4. The V2 carries the same effect forward, and a Platinum Edition version came in a deep lavender enclosure with surf green ink, featuring original artwork of the water mystery, Julia revealing the tip of her hand telling more of her true story by Adam Forster3. That Platinum Edition is now sold out3.
The Platinum Edition keeps that V2 spec and changes the finish: a deep lavender enclosure with surf green ink, featuring Forster's original artwork of "the water mystery, Julia revealing the tip of her hand telling more of her true story"1. Walrus Audio also offered a blemished version of the Platinum Edition, a cosmetically imperfect unit at a discount, and that listing is likewise sold out5. A Craftsman Series version of the Julia exists as well, with the same true bypass and fully analog circuit6.
The Platinum Edition is a limited finish and is listed as sold out on Walrus Audio's site. The standard Julia V2 carries the same circuit and controls, at a list price of $219.993.
What reviewers said
guitar.com's Michael Watts reviewed the Julia V2 in February 2020 at a UK price of £179, and noted the practical benefit of the V2's switching: "the soft switch bypassing means that engaging the pedal is pop-free"2. On That Pedal Show, Walrus Audio representatives walked through the pedal's "all analog circuitry" in a demo segment7.
"the soft switch bypassing means that engaging the pedal is pop-free"
On That Pedal Show's demo video, the Walrus Audio team presented the Julia alongside their other pedals, discussing its all-analog circuitry and the range of chorus and vibrato sounds available from the controls7.
Power, warranty and practicalities
The Julia needs 9VDC with a minimum of 100mA1. That current draw is on the higher side for an analog pedal, so check that your power supply's individual outputs can deliver it. No power supply comes in the box: Walrus Audio's page states "Power supply not included"3. All Walrus Audio products, the Julia included, are covered by the maker's limited lifetime warranty3.

Questions
Is the Walrus Audio Julia fully analog?
Yes. Walrus Audio describes the Julia as a fully analog, feature-rich chorus/vibrato, and the circuit's all-analog signal path was also discussed by Walrus Audio representatives on That Pedal Show. The selectable LFO wave shapes are analog as well.
Does the Julia V2 have true bypass?
Yes. The maker lists True Bypass for the V2, the Platinum Edition and the Craftsman Series version. The V2 also uses soft switch bypassing, which guitar.com's reviewer found made engaging the pedal pop-free.
What power does the Walrus Julia need?
It runs on 9VDC with a minimum of 100mA. A power supply is not included with the pedal, so you need to supply your own 9V DC source. All Walrus Audio products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
What changed in the Julia V2?
Updated for 2020, the V2 moved to top mounted jacks, added soft switch bypassing and received updated artwork from Adam Forster. The core design stayed the same: a fully analog chorus/vibrato with Lag, Dry-Chorus-Vibrato Blend and selectable analog LFO wave shapes.
Does the Julia come with a power supply?
No. Walrus Audio's product page states plainly that the power supply is not included. Plan on a 9V DC supply delivering at least 100mA.
