Walrus Audio Eras Five-State Distortion

Walrus Audio Unleashes the Eras Five-State Distortion Leave a comment

Walrus Audio has introduced the sequel to its Ages Five-State Overdrive—the Eras Five-State Distortion, which comes brimming with high-gain character.

Made to chug, shred, and yield an extensive array of speaker-ripping sounds, the Eras sports a five-way rotary switch for choosing between five different gain states.

Per Walrus Audio, the sounds are as follows: “tight mode with a slight mid-cut, LED hard clipping, and internal volume control,” “tight mode with a slight mid-cut and silicon hard clipping,” “dual clipping mode with a slight mid-cut and both silicon and LED hard clipping,” “rhythm mode with a deeper mid-cut, LED hard clipping, and internal volume control,” and “rhythm mode with a deeper mid-cut and silicon hard clipping.”

Each profile marries meticulously crafted EQ cuts with either silicon clipping or LED to give a distinctive flavor. The Eras’ five other knobs enable further tone-sculpting, covering gain, treble, bass, volume, and blend.

Notable for its blend dial, the Eras is versatile enough to stack with other drive stompboxes and mix in the clean signal.

Added flexibility comes via independent bass and treble knobs, which allow for slicing and boosting frequencies.

The Eras Five-State Distortion is out now for $199. Check out Walrus Audio to find out more.
