Seymour Duncan Launches Limited-Edition Black Pickup Booster Leave a comment

Leading guitar accessories creator Seymour Duncan has released its Pickup Booster pedal in a beautiful, limited-edition sleek matte black enclosure.

Just like the original Pickup Booster, this special version is configured to boost a guitar signal sans changing its fundamental character, while also hiding some tone-sculpting tricks up its sleeve.

The Pickup Booster consists of a Gain knob as well as a pickup resonance switch designed to make single-coil pickups sound similar to an old humbucker when at the “1” position or a high output humbucker when toggled at the “2” position.

First launched in 2002 and utilized by legendary musicians such as Alex Skolnick, Peter Frampton, and George Lynch, the Pickup Booster is a true-bypass pedal featuring a class A, low-noise circuit design. Users can utilize this pedal to dial in the tone they need for any situation. The Pickup Booster will highlight the instrument’s natural tone while adding some beefiness and muscle.

The Pickup Booster leverages a discrete push-pull output stage for improved drive capacity so the signal chain will sound cleaner even with lengthy cable runs and with the Gain knob down to 0dB, essentially serving as a buffer on the pedalboard.

The limited-edition Pickup Booster is already available for $119.
