Electro-Harmonix Presents the Cntl Knob Leave a comment

Electro-Harmonix has unveiled a fresh take on the expression pedal format, the set-it-and-forget-it Cntl Knob Static Exp.

Budget- and user-friendly, this compact unit provides static remote control for devices with expression control jacks. Unlike traditional expression stompboxes, the Cntl Knob has no foot rocker. Instead, the pedal carries dual knobs labeled as EXP 1 and EXP 2.

Each dial can be rolled at a particular position imitating a foot rocker position, with entirely clockwise being the toe position and wholly anti-clockwise being the heel position. Stomp on the footswitch to change between the two positions of the respective dials.

To ensure the Cntl Knob Static Exp works with as many pedals as possible, Electro-Harmonix added a TRS+/- Button. It allows players to match expression polarity with the device they are controlling. For ease of use, the Cntl Knob also comes with a six-foot TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) cable.

Another perk is space-saving. Thanks to its tiny footprint, players can integrate the Cntl Knob into their diminutive pedalboard setups more conveniently than a full-sized expression pedal.

The Electro-Harmonix Cntl Knob Static Exp carries a US street price of $39. See how it works with the demo video below or head over to Electro-Harmonix for more details.
