Redbeard Effects Enters the Overdrive Market With the Angry Rhubarb Leave a comment

British boutique stompbox manufacturer Redbeard Effects has debuted its first-ever overdrive, the Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII.

Joining up with other Redbeard Effects pedals—Red Mist MKIV Distortion and Honey Badger Octave Fuzz, the Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII is touted by the brand as its “first foray into the overdrive world.”

Looking to cater to every pedal enthusiast, the Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII comes with dual independent overdrive circuits placed both before and after the EQ system, providing you with a “surgical approach to sculpting your tone.”

Each overdrive circuit sports an independent control knob, letting you set the drive level of either EQ side to your liking. Meanwhile, a master volume dial provides an overall umbrella control so you can keep your gains in check.

Also making the cut is an intuitive Parametric EQ, adjustable via Frequency and Frequency Gain knobs. Whereas the former explores a -6dB to +6dB frequency range, the latter toggles between Bass, Middle, and Treble parameters, delivering an interactive sound-shaping experience. Other noteworthy features include a true bypass footswitch and an all-analog blueprint.

Designed and hand-built in the UK, the Redbeard Effects Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII is already available for $249.
