Keeley Electronics Drops the Hydra Stereo Reverb & Tremolo Leave a comment

Keeley Electronics has unveiled the Hydra Stereo Reverb & Tremolo, which fuses high-fidelity reverb and tremolo sounds into a portable stereo pedal.

Per Keeley Electronics, the Hydra was created as the “perfect companion” to the recently launched ECCOS Delay/Looper stompbox. “After the team at Keeley completed the Eccos, we wanted to craft the perfect companion pedal, and we did just that with our new, feature-rich blue box,” the brand stated in the press release.

On offer in the Hydra are three tremolo types (Harmonic, Vibrato, and Sine) and three different reverb algorithm flavors (Spring, Plate, and Room). The resulting sound combinations are very telling of the pedal’s versatility, not to mention the ability to switch around the order of the tremolo and reverb.

The Hydra also carries a pair of footswitches for engaging the reverb and tremolo. Control knobs include Dwell, Mixer, and Color for reverb, as well as Depth and Rate for the tremolo. Even better, secondary knob functions enable more extensive command over both sound engines.

Other handy features include three preset slots, onboard or remote tap-tempo, and an expression pedal input for controlling any parameter in any direction.

Designed and manufactured in the USA, the Hydra Stereo Reverb & Tremolo debuts today for $249. Listen to it in action with Keeley’s official demo below.
